Natalia Vázquez Purriños

PhD Candidate ·

Natalia Vázquez Purriños is a PhD candidate at TU Delft’s SUM Lab, where she works within the ERC-funded TRANSFORM project on resilient multimodal transport systems. Her research focuses on developing adaptive mobility systems that can anticipate disruptions and optimize system performance in real time. Her interests include optimization under uncertainty, operations research, and machine learning.

She holds BSc degrees in Mathematics and Physics from USC and an MSc in Applied Mathematics from TU Delft, with a specialization in optimization and discrete mathematics. Before starting her PhD, Natalia worked as a Research Engineer at MBZUAI, where she developed statistical and machine learning methods for genome-wide association studies. Her previous research also includes reinforcement learning and learning-guided search for high-dimensional discrete optimization problems.
